Baby J

This little boy was a 10 pound bundle of joy.  He loved to snuggle and did not like being put down.  I'm sure his mom is cursing me because I cuddled him for hours and totally spoiled him!  I definitely got my newborn fix!

Cuddly baby boy K

I love baby boys!  They are so snuggly and wonderful and this one was no exception.  This was a marathon 5 hour session for such a funny reason.  He was a good sleeper, but we really wanted pictures with his mommy and every time she would pick him up, he would hose her down with pee and then wake up.  So we'd rock him back to sleep, wait for him to fall into a deep sleep and try again.  Well, rinse and repeat 3 times.  Literally.  Poor mom got hosed 3 times and the little squirt even saved a shower for me!  Good thing they're cute, right?!  I always say there's nothing more pure than baby pee and that's what gets me through it.  That and the fact that he, his parents and his big brother dog were such a delight to be around!

Sweet baby boy...

This was the snuggliest, sweetest and sleepiest baby boy!  I just adored spending time with him and his family.  He was 15 days old in these photos, which is a bit old for newborn pictures.  Ideally, you take them between 6 and 10 days so that they are still sleepy and bendy.  I got luck with this little guy!  This was also my first total stranger shoot.  The mom is a friend of a friend and I met her for the first time that morning.  It was good practice in developing a connection with someone new and finding ways to make them comfortable with me taking photos of their new baby. The best part was that this little guy was super gassy!  It was so funny and I loved it since he kept smiling for me!

Sweet Baby R

This is a sneak peek of sweet little Miss R.  This baby girl was a D-R-E-A-M!  She was out like a light and let me play around with so many things I wanted to try.  I have 7 newborns lined up to practice on between now and February and she is the.only.girl!  Many thanks to her parents for welcoming me into their home for so long and for trusting me with their new precious gift.  I loved every minute of my time there.  I have tons more to edit, but just couldn't wait to share a few!

The S siblings

You may remember sweet "Baby I" from my first newborn session.  Believe it or not, she is now 8 weeks old and her Mommy asked me to replicate an image that she has of both of her other kids at this age.  "L" and "V" both have black & white 3/4 profile portraits and they need one more to complete the set.

These kids are so adorable and are natural models.  They adored the camera and let me practice for such a long time.  It was so much fun and I was so happy to get a few other shots that I thought my friend would enjoy.

I haven't done many black & white conversions (a lot more to it than you'd think), so this is the first time I've really dived into it for a session.  I'm also used to shooting outdoors, so this was my second time creating a studio set up inside a home.  Needless to say, this session was quite educational!
